I love Seam Deltarune, of course I'm super biased being a plushie and all as well, honestly wouldn't be surprised if Seam also influenced that part of me.

Anyways just wanna give some appreciation to this nonbinary (yes that's canon) plushie icon and also do a little speculation on this character that I think gets slept on a lot when it comes to the larger Deltarune narrative (I really have no good way to segue into this lol) defintely also writing this under the assumption you, the reader, have familiarity with Deltarune to keep up with the ramblings fyi

So Seam has to be up to something, right? Like there's no way there's just a character that directly quotes Gaster and shares the same gashed eye appearance and *not* have something to do with whatever weird meta narrative is inevitably going on. It's also confirmed in the Official Undertale Cross-stitch Book of all places that Seam canonically has a known weapon (a Seam Ripper) as well the in-game text that Seam was able to fight Jevil regularly on their own and at least match him in strength if not surpass.

SEAM RIPPER
A tool designed to allow for the easy removal of stitches. Its small, curved blade cuts through the thread, while its blunt or ball-tipped point protects your fabric. Essential for ripping out a misaligned stitch if you're too far along to simply pull the threads back out.
Once wielded by Seam in combat.

There's also the bit I can't stop thinking about which is that you're just *giving* the shadow crystals over to this mysterious ambiguously apathetic plushie creature, those things that hold massive power and cause the secret superboss fights? You're just handing those over and I am chomping at the mitts to know if there's going to be some secret Seam boss fight or something. I could see it being towards the end of a Weird Route or something where Seam has had enough of the player's actions and sheds their apathy when they become the linchpin between the player and the shadow crystals.

The description of the seam ripper from the cross-stitch book also has wording that implies some kind of importance to its corrective nature which is what really gives me Weird Route vibes. That the player is too far gone and Seam needs to take some kind of corrective action to pluck them out of the narrative (maybe literally via the heart who knows).

Oh also it seems that Seam's theme "Lantern" might have been the first bit of Deltarune anything to be "revealed" technically, a year before the Switch version of Undertale that has Clam Girl and "Suzy" there was a PS4 (and PS Vita) launch trailer for Undertale that inexplicably has Lantern's motif at the beginning??? Now I have no idea if that really *means* anything but I'll take what I can get when it comes to this scrungly old and worn cat plush.

I could totally fix them for real guys trust me, I could take their paws in mine and then help sew back their other eye in place and brush their fur and maybe help make some more whimsical magician's attire for them again. I think that'd be really cute. Old fella just needs some patching up inside and out really.

Uh hmhmhmh what else,, I kind of headcanoned in Chapter 1 that the reason Seam isn't seen outside their "Seap" is for a reveal that Seam might literally be their shop since it seems to be made of the same fabric and its stitched literally into the background it seems, so kind of 4th wall break-y as well. So I assumed maybe it was for some reveal that Seam actually has some really huge fluffing monster form or something, iirc Seam is also easily the biggest of the Darkners in the abandoned classroom as well being a plush and all.

Chapter 2 kind of makes me lose some hope in that since their shop seems to be clearly defined now instead of a mess of patchwork, it's really cute looking though. Would still love a twist like that regardless though, would be a good payoff for so far never seeing Seam with an overworld sprite or below the torso (since maybe that could reveal the twist idk).

Anyways Toby Fox let me kiss the old plush and tenderly fix up their wounds and stitching and live a domestic plush 4 plush life in castle town with them please please I'm begging
